Well, hello everybody! Thanks to Slaede for allowing me to contribute to his blog. My name is Bill Kim (Centurian99 on various 40K forums), and I've been playing Daemons since they were first released four years ago. I've managed to do pretty well with them, with my best showing at a major tournament being last spring in the AdeptiCon 40K Championships, when I advanced to the top 16 out of a field of 256. Of course, my dice abandoned me at that point, and I not only played four games in the finals where my secondary wave came in, my reserve rolls kept most of my primary off the table until turns 3 or 4. Against the caliber of opponents in the finals...the technical term for my status was "totally and completely screwed." Thems the breaks when you play Chaos Daemons. If we didn't want to deal with that in 5th edition, we would have been playing Grey Knights or Space Wolves.
Yep, that's me on the left, from a Chicago Grand Tournament a while ago, about to get my ass schooled by Jay Woodcock of DaBoyz. You can tell its from a long time ago because I'm wearing a watch.
But now the 5th Age has passed, and we're well into the Golden 6th. I had all sorts of tactical ideas and the like to write up, but since the rumor mill has finally started to churn with details about the upcoming codex release...there doesn't seem to be that much of a point to doing so. We get another two weeks to enjoy daemonic assault, fearlessness, eternal warrior, and screamers and flamers.
The first post I was going to do was either going to be "The Glorious Seeker Cavalcade" or "Why I Respect (But Don't Fear) The Banner of Doucheness...er...Devastation." But the first could very well be moot in a few weeks, and the second could also be moot in a few weeks. So if the readership has a preference for one or the other, let me know.

Hi Bill,
ReplyDeleteYour thoughts on seeker chariots would be welcome. Cheers.
Another vote for seekers chariots!
ReplyDeleteWelcome. Looking forward to the bew vodex and thoughts from you both. Hoping it's set up like unit discription, followed by both thoughts and possible tactics.
ReplyDeleteJust curious, there are a lot of Bills that play Daemons and everything, but did you attend a Team Tournament in Toledo on the 10th? Daemons/Daemons team.
Yep, that was me. Brandon wanted to play Daemons, so we used mine. Were you there?
DeleteWelcome to the family Bill but what are YOUR opinions on that whole deal with Daemons not getting to use Daemonic Assault?
DeleteYeah. I had Daemons and my teammate had Nurgle Marines. We didn't do that good, lol. I had Lord of Change, 2x Flying Daemon Princes, and Horrors and Flammers. Teammate didn't have any anti-air, and I was expecting flyers everywhere. I don't get to play that much except for tournaments. We got recognition for coming from Michigan, same with another team. I should have looked at the missions, I would have changed my list drastically.
DeleteYour army looked like a lot of fun, and had a great display.
Renato - its the game. Stuff changes. I'm withholding judgment until I can actually see the rules. It'll definitely be an adjustment though.
DeleteAnonymous - thanks.
Hey bill, this is Jeff, the imperial guard player from Toledo. We played against each other in a tournament back in the fall at the game room. glad to see a familiar face in the ocean of internet chatter
